A dog can be rescued by being identified as abandoned or surrendered. In most cases there is no way of knowing the medical or behavioral history.

Evaluations must begin.

Observation and interaction begin immediately between the rescue and people, as well as, other dogs and critters.

Every dog starts with a visit to a veterinarian for a full physical.

All shots are brought current, and any issues are dealt with.

In some cases, a dog might act out in some manner and a keen evaluator will recognize it is a medical issue. Once identified and verified by the vet a remedy can occur.

Once a dog is cleared for adoption the search begins for a perfect forever home.

Those interested in adopting must fill out an application and submit it to the Board. If approved a meet and greet is arranged between the prospective dog and family.

If the meeting goes well a visit to the family's home is next. When all pieces are in place the adopted dog is transported to the adopting family. Then there is the happily ever after!

Sometimes during the evaluations there are behavioral or medical issues that must be taken into consideration.

There are special people that don't mind special conditions and if they are aware a happy pup has a happy home.

Any humans that are interested in adopting a LWR dog must fill out an application.!

Each of these steps takes time and trained professionals to insure a safe and healthy dog for you and your family to adopt.

Doctor visits cost a great deal.
